November Birthstones October 29 2014
We're almost in November. And the post of today will be addressed to the people who was born at this month.
Traditional and primal birthstone of November is a Topaz. Yes, lucky you! That fantastic gemstone is corresponding to your birthdate. Actually topaz often being confused with Citrine, the alternative November birthstone. The most common topaz colors are brown, yellow, yellow-gold, and orange, all very similar to the shades of citrine. But normally, topaz have a vivid and bright shade and citrine opposite is usually a pale yellow.
Sometimes you can find some blue topazes ( as well as pink or some violet colors), but nature rarely produces a blue topaz. Mostly topazes of this color are treated. It means that colorless topaz that has been irradiated and heat treated to produce its blue color. The blue color created by this treatment process is permanent and stable under normal care conditions.
Amber–yellow or orange citrines are heat treated with the same manner. A big amount of gemstones you can find on sale as citrines are actually treated amethyst or quartz. But in nature sometimes happen the same: much of the natural citrine may have started out as amethyst but heat from nearby magmatic bodies may have caused the change to citrine.
A few words about symbolizm of that stones, if you’re curious:
Topaz was believed to be symbolic of the Egyptian Sun God Ra, with its brilliant golden glow and fiery intensity. Owing to this quality of the Topaz, it was fashioned into several amulets and talismans.
Citrine is associated with the values of hope, cheerfulness, youth, health, and fidelity. Also is widely believed to bestow good fortune and success to the wearer, earning it the title ‘The Success Stone’. The belief entails that the stone is used to promote success in business if placed in the cash box of a shop ( let me know if you'll try and it works! )
Need to say that Both gemstones - topaz and citrine - are quite delicate! Please, take care of this stones, mostly citrine, they are fragile! And avoid all the contact with cleaning products, direct sun or other heating to it. Clean it with a bit of soap and dry it with a soft cloth.
Apart of topaz and citrine for the calendar month of November your talismanic birthstones are pearls and chrysoprase.
And according to zodiac signs Scorpio and Sagittarius (because these two zodiac signs span part of November) the birthstones are:
For Scorpio: topaz, garnet, aquamarine, amethyst and ruby
And for Sagittarius: topaz, cat’s eye, turquoise, sapphire, and amethyst.
Well, there is plenty to choose! Hope, the jewelry with your own birthstone will bring you harmony and happiness!
